The Path to a World-Class PMO
Presented by: Don Saracco, Ed.D.
Scholars and practitioners are predicting that the project approach to the design of work processes will dominate workplace life within this century. The pace and nature of change will continue to relegate the fixed-process model of work design to the most mundane of manufacturing processes. In a world of high-speed dynamics the project approach to work makes the most sense, and that raises questions about what the impact will be on management methods and structures. The Project Management Office (PMO) is a likely and perhaps necessary structure that can ease the transition to new work and political structures. In this presentation Don will discuss what it takes to build a great PMO and what will stand in the way of this goal in terms of human behavior and political reality.
More than thirty years ago, Don Saracco made a life commitment to the development of human potential. This commitment led him to study education, individual psychology, and organizational development formally and in the context of his employment as a functional manager, a personal counselor, a corporate training and development professional and corporate executive. His education culminated in his doctorate in Human Performance at Work from the University of Southern California.
