Does Your Thinking Limit Your Success?
Presented By: Lindon A. Crow
Does your thinking limit your success? Of course it does! This presentation is a blend of information with undeniable experiences. You will be invited to participate in activities where you discover how your perceptions prevent you from seeing opportunities, as well as from taking actions that would lead directly to the results you ideally want. Although limited thinking is universal, you’ll uncover your own unique thinking that is holding you back. Come prepared to challenge how you think about things; after all, “to get what we never got, we have to think like we never thought!”

"The Diamond Principle"
Presented By: David Bartholomew, PMP, RIM
"The Diamond Principle" shows project managers and leaders why decisions frequently do not produce the desired outcomes, and provides five simple rules that have been validated in hundreds of companies, how to overcome the gap between executive management expectations and the results achieved in projects approved by these executives.
The Diamond Principle's Rules are proven business decision making guidelines, that directly align to the tools, techniques and processes described in the PMBOK to Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor and Control, and Close a successful project. These rules stand out because of David's no - nonsense, straightforward approach to making informed decisions which identify those projects that will lead to building competitive advantage. David explains the five rules by providing vivid exercises that project managers will remember; including The Chalk Talk (a facilitated discussion by senior executives) and The Three - Legged Stool Theory (listen and learn, take action, and give back to your customer).

"Mob Programming: A Whole Team Approach"
Presented By: Woody Zuill
Mob Programming is a development approach where the whole team works on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and at the same computer. This is a “Whole Team” approach to doing all the work the team does – including coding, designing, testing, and working with the “customer” (partner, Product Owner, user, etc.). We have expanded the “team” nature of all the work we do – not just planning, retrospectives, and a daily stand-up or other meetings – but all the work that the team does. This could be thought of as Extreme Pair Programming, or continuous collaboration, perhaps. In other words, this is an evolutionary step beyond the pair programming, face-to-face communication, team alignment, collaboration, and “self organizing team” concepts of the Agile approach to software development. We’ll share how we’ve been using this practice to super-charge our development efforts and deliver high value software for over 2 years. We’ll see what it looks like, the benefits, and how to do it yourself. In our workplace we “Mob Program” all day, every day, but we’ll also explore some ideas on how you can employ all of the concepts and practices (and get the benefits) of “Mob Programming” in your own company even if you can’t do it “all day, every day”.
Woody Zuill has been programming computers for 30 years, and works as an Agile Coach/Development Manager. Over the last 15 years he has worked as an Agile Coach, Trainer, and Extreme Programmer. He believes code must be simple, clean, and maintainable to realize the Agile promise of Responding to Change. He spent many years as an artist/designer/manaufacturer of graphics for televised sporting events where deadlines are for real. Loves Mob Programming.

BECOME CERTIFIED AS AN PMI AGILE CERTIFIED PRACTITIONER (ACP)
The Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) offers cutting-edge project management techniques that compliment traditional project management methodologies and certifications.
This 21 hour class will prepare you to take the PMI-ACP Exam. It provides an overview of agile methodologies including Scrum, Extreme Programming, (XP), Lean Software Development, Kanban, Crystal and others presented by PMI-ACP certified instructors.
Although students will leave the class with an increase in knowledge, the class is primarily designed to prepare students to pass the PMI-ACP certification exam rather than to teach hands on day-to-day agile workplace skills.
The class is a service provided by the PMI-San Diego chapter for the benefit of PMI-SD members and our local project management community.
