Course Description:
Microsoft Project is a powerful tool – if used correctly. Join us as we go far beyond simply teaching you the software, and show you how to ensure that your schedule provides valuable information, early warning, and analysis capability throughout the project life cycle.

Course Dates:
The three day class will be held April 10th through the 12th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Registration closes March 26th or when sold out at 16 students. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the best practices of project scheduling.

  • Extract key milestones and project constraints and incorporate them into the project schedule.

  • Define and sequence activities.

  • Identify the activities that are most likely to cause a project to be late through Critical Path Methodology analysis.

  • Plan and manage resources.

  • Incorporate project costs into the project.

  • Utilize the preferred approach to applying status and analyze resulting impacts.

  • Define custom global objects to enable analysis.

  • Create “what-if” scenarios and perform schedule compression approaches including fast-tracking and crashing.

  • Work with master projects for multiple project analysis.

  • Create project reports and understand the audience for each.

Course Materials:
Students will receive a 100+ page participant guide that includes copies of the course PowerPoint slides.

Course Credit:
Students who satisfy workshop completion requirements receive a "Certificate of Completion," indicating that they have completed 21 hours of project management training. 21 Technical PDUs may be claimed for this training.

Software Information:
The course will be taught on computers with Microsoft Project 2013.  If students wish to use Microsoft Project 2016, they may bring their own laptops with 2016 installed. 

Meet Your Instructor:
Bridget Fleming
 has over 20 years of experience using Microsoft Project and is a certified project management and scheduling professional with the Project Management Institute (PMP, PMI-SP), and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). She was a member of the core team that developed the PMI Practice Standard for Scheduling – Second Edition, and ran a Microsoft Project helpdesk for 15 years for a Fortune 100 client with over 500 users.

Course Fee:
Registration is $700.00 for PMI members and $825.00 for non-members. Fee must accompany registration.  No walk-in registrations!
