Course Description:
This 24-hour course offers a comprehensive study of agile project management concepts, definitions and methodologies with strong emphasis on Inputs, Tools & Techniques and Outputs. This course is certification-focused with guidance for a post-training study plan and a certification exam strategy.

Agile has drastically impacted the daily lives of software developers and project managers alike. Consequently, the demand for formally trained Agile practitioners has risen steadily over the years, with little signs of slowing. Understanding Agile and all of its relevant principles and methodologies are necessary for anyone interested in leading teams that adhere to the principles of trust, empowerment and collaboration. Its departure from traditional methods of command and control allow all project managers to adopt new perspectives and approaches that will increase the ultimate potential for project success. The PMI-ACP Certification is an important aspect of any project practitioner’s development, one that will improve the chances of career advancement and growth. 

Martin J Brown Jr. is an Instructor for Titanium Cobra Solutions. He has over 40 years of experience in managing complex projects ranging from advanced technology research and development efforts to establishing a new Air Force organization. He has successfully delivered valuable results employing a variety of agile methods and techniques. He implemented extreme programming (XP) methods to improve the quality and reliability of advanced technology prototypes in 1998 and applied lean methodologies to globally deploy a high priority Navy surveillance system in 2009. Marty has written a number of research papers on adaptive and value focused project management and has spoken to various industry and government groups on recommendations to improve the art and science of project management including the Defense Acquisition Research Symposium where he spoke about Adaptive Project Management. He was a keynote speaker at the Government Interoperability Conference where he discussed how agile methods support successful project execution in the face of evolving interoperability requirements. Mr. Brown holds Project Management Professional and Agile Certified Practitioner certifications from the Project Management Institute and holds both Acquisition and Information Technology certifications from the Department of Defense.

Classes held from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM beginning on September 12th, 2018 and ending on September 14th, 2018. Registration accepted with payment only.

Course Fee:
Registration is $835 for PMI Members and $1000 for non-Members. Fee must accompany registration.

Number and Type of PDU’s:  24 Contact Hours, meets the minimum of 21 contact hours required to sit for the PMI - ACP exam
