Collaboration Saturday – Scheduling Tools – Part 2

Managing Projects with Scheduling Software. This event applies to users of MS Project 2016/2013 and Primavera P6 V8/15/16.1
Course will help participants to learn the capabilities of Windows based applications for project planning, scheduling, control and analysis then navigate through the software. After successful completion of this course, you will be able to create a project plan file and enter task information, create a work breakdown structure by organizing tasks and setting task relationships, personalize the project plan file, and set a baseline.

Being a part of “Office”, we tend to be self-taught, and consequently, end up as beginners, unable to advance to powerful levels. So why not learn these very powerful tools properly and best practices for application?

  • Creating a Custom Field
  • Constraints / Deadline
  • Applying Filters
  • Defining Resources
  • Assigning Resources
  • Creating a Baseline
  • Updating a Project
  • Printing Reports
  • MS Excel to MS Project Export-Import

Get familiar with the scheduling engine and how Project reacts when task parameters are changed. Learn the proper usage of Calendars, Deadlines, Constraints and Dependencies. Get familiar with the “Resource” and fields for tracking. Build a foundation before tackling more difficult subjects such as Resource Pooling, Leveling, etc.
