My childhood home was a thousand-acre farm in Alabama. After high school and some college, I went into the Air Force. I was stationed at Travis AFB near San Francisco and then at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage.

When I left the Air Force in 1973, I remained in Alaska for another twenty-three years. Then, in 1995, I moved to California, first to Julian and then, a few years ago, into San Diego.

During my career, I have lead teams and projects in construction surveying, IT development, finance, residential construction and community development. Teams have included one of about thirty-five employees as Operations Director and another of fifty volunteers as Construction Superintendent.

For the past six years, I have volunteered with PMI-SD, including as Dinner Event Manager, Deputy VP Programs and as Vice President Programs. When the Board of Directors was faced with an unexpected vacancy in the VP Finance office, I was asked to move from VP Programs into that new role as Vice President of Finance for the chapter. I have also served on the Chapter Bylaws Review Committee twice, most recently as chair of the Committee.
