Evoking the Project Leader
Presented by:  John Eisenschmidt, Agile Kata LLC

Registration at this venue is limited to 20 attendees. Register now to reserve your spot!

Abstract: Projects are a commitment to a new future. As custodians of this new future, we as Project Managers find ourselves in the unique and challenging position of holding this commitment forefront - along with juggling the concerns of many others affected by both the project and its outcome.

Since leadership starts with self, we will spend our time together reflecting on our common challenges, then explore how we as Project Managers might self-assess our current leadership skills, determine what we need in our toolbox to be effective Project Leaders, and explore how to close our personal skills gap.

For 20 years, John Eisenschmidt has coached individuals and teams towards greater agility within corporations, nonprofits, higher education, and the federal government. As an Agile Coach and Program Manager, John has led numerous large and multi-year initiatives with co-located and federated teams. He is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, a ScrumAlliance Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional® (CSP), and an ICAgile Certified Professional Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC). John is the co-organizer of the Agile Coaching Exchange in Southern California and Online, and facilitates the ACE Leadership Circle in North America.

As a professional coach, John believes that leadership is more than just a designation, and that leaders take responsibility for their own development. He works with individuals and teams to cultivate their authenticity, dignity, presence, and resilience, primarily using somatics (working through the body). He is a graduate of the CCL’s Leadership Development Program, a Strozzi Institute certified Somatic Coach (SISC), an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), and a certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Facilitator.

John holds a B.S. in Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems from the George Mason University School of Business. He is an Adjunct at Georgetown University, where he teaches leadership in their Project Management certificate program.
