Collaboration Saturday – Project Scheduling

This collaborative event will examine advanced topics in the area of project schedule management. The audience will discover and discuss common challenges experienced by both project managers and schedulers as they endeavor to chart a successful course for project execution. The effects of uncertainty and unpredictability within markets and the corporate ecosystem significantly impact planning considerations for not only project managers, but stakeholders alike. Project scheduling and its direct impact on execution requires a systems approach, thoughtful analysis and the use of best practices in order to realize the benefits promised by the project.

The topics that will be discussed are:

  • Effective scope planning and management
  • WBS development and work package planning
  • Activity definition and dependency management
  • Resource planning pitfalls

Participants are encouraged to engage the forum with real-world challenges, related industry trends and recommended solutions that will benefit all in the efficient scheduling and execution of their projects. We will also discuss emerging practices related to Agile as well as ways to tailor their use in a more traditional project environment.
