Enhancing the PMO Partnership
Group Participation and Discussion led by: Barbara Gunning and Sherry S. Remington

Abstract: This is the inaugural meeting for the PMO leaders in PMI San Diego. We will discuss format and topics as well as review enhancing the PMO partnership, achieving business Results with Business Architecture. The takeaway for attendees will be a very robust discussion on people, process, systems and data for the PMO to take their output to the next level.

Barbara Gunning is the President of Rocking Your Team, a company that applies the Science of Personalities to businesses, teams, and families with incredible success. During her 25+ years of experience as a project manager, Barbara discovered the value of understanding people at a deeper level to increase the effectiveness and productivity of her teams while reducing frustrations, misunderstandings, and conflicts both at work and in life.

Barbara combines real experience and personality science knowledge to provide programs with practical application. She has worked as a project manager in many diverse fields including manufacturing, banking, insurance, food service, and software development. In addition, she is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, holds a Bachelor’s and an MBA in Business from San Diego State University. She teaches at UCSD-Extension and holds multiple certifications in applying personality science to teams. Barbara is a Master Practitioner in Personality Types and a Certified DISC provider, and she is qualified in MMTIC, Conceptual Coaching, and Emotional Intelligence.

Sherry S Remington is currently Principle Consultant with Remington Consulting. Previously she was an R&D Program manager for Leica Biosystems, after having been with the City of Carlsbad for three years. Previously she was a project manager for Cisco Systems for 13 years, and previous to Cisco, she worked with an international refuse and recycling company for nine years managing multimillion-dollar municipal contracts. A native of Mississippi, Sherry studied at the University of Southern Mississippi. Sherry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. She also holds a Master’s Certificate from The George Washington University School of Business and has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Sherry holds a Stanford Program Management Certification (SCPM) from Stanford University and an Enterprise Architecture certificate from Penn State University.
