ABSTRACT: 

At UC San Diego Extension, we understand that professionals have a number of reasons for studying, so we have designed course offerings to meet as many of your needs as possible. The courses listed below may be taken individually or as part of Extension’s Professional Certificate in Project Management. Extension’s Project Management program courses provide a practical, hands-on approach to understanding the industry. Traditional in-class, online, and intensive courses are offered throughout the year to meet the needs of our diverse students. If you are interested in completing the full certificate, there are five required courses plus approximately two elective courses. We invite you to join our community of learning professionals.

AGENDA: from 8/3/2020 - 8/29/2020

This seminar course introduces you to the Microsoft Project scheduling tool. There will be discussion on project management best practices; however, the emphasis of this course is how to best utilize and apply MS Project. You will learn how to use the software to plan, schedule, assign project resources and costs, and employ MS Project to manage and control resources.

During this course, you will follow a hands-on instructor led demo. You will need access to the software to successfully complete this course. Students may access the software at any of Extension's open computer labs. Students may also download a free trial edition of Microsoft Project directly from Microsoft or purchase a copy for personal use. Please note, that this software is not compatible with Apple OS products.

Instructor - Saeid "Sam", Yazdani, PMP, LSSBB, MBA

Sam Yazdani provides consulting in Biotech start ups, project management and Quality Systems. He has experience in GLP & GMP, held Sr. Project Management positions at various biotech companies, and was President and Director of Quality at Global LIMS Software, SoilCore and Synergic Analytics. He has three life science US patents and an MBA from USC.

 

Education/Professional Development Units (PDU): 18 educational hours / PDUs

Drop Deadline: You can drop most courses at any time before the final class meeting (by 11:59 p.m. on the day before the scheduled end date for online courses) or before final grades are posted, whichever comes first.

Refund Deadline: 8/10/2020 - If you drop a course after the refund deadline, even if you enrolled after that date, you will not receive a refund.
