Abstract: Agile is changing the way we manage all projects. Agile projects are more successful and have higher customer satisfaction rates than traditional projects. It can also be used to deliver anything from non-profit programs to large, complicated cyber-physical products. The Project Management Institute acquired the Disciplined Agile (DA) toolkit to provide its members with credible new capabilities and certifications that will make them even more valuable in the marketplace. DA recognizes that every team, project, and organization operate within their own context.

Disciplined Agile provides a pragmatic approach that recognizes that making informed choices is good. The fundamental advice is to start where you are, do the best you can—given the situation that you face—and always try to get better.

In this presentation, Alan Zucker explains the value of agile and the benefits of Disciplined Agile. Through this conversation, participants will understand how DA fits into their context, its practical applications, and how they can become part of this new and exciting movement.

Alan Zucker has over 25-years of experience managing projects and project execution organizations in Fortune 100 companies. His agile experience predates the Agile Manifesto, and he played a leadership role in the Agile-DevOps transformation of a large financial services enterprise.

Currently, Alan is an instructor and consultant, sharing his project management and agile experience. He developed the agile professional development programs at George Mason University and the Northern Virginia Community College.

Alan is one of the first PMI members to be certified as a Discipline Agile Instructor and Coach. He also holds advanced agile certifications from Scrum Alliance and the Scaled Agile Institute (SAFe).
