Abstract: Integrating SAFe into a PMO requires extensive reconfiguring of an organization and the Project Management Office. SAFe builds on Agile Scrum, XP, Lean, Design Thinking, and DevOps with its own knowledge base and framework. Implementing SAFe requires extensive use of organizational change management methodology. This session will provide an overview of SAFe and discuss implementing SAFe as part of the PMO both in terms of established SAFe implementation guidelines and the role of organizational change management theory in establishing a PMO.

Steve Bouchillon has almost 18 years broad experience in Quality for medical device manufacturing, including nine years in Global Quality, and has more than two decades living or working in international environments. Steve's involvement in the PMO includes co-authoring procedure and form updates for a New Product Introduction PMO and coaching and standardizing project quality management and validate scope activity. In addition to certifications in Quality and Lean, he recently obtained a PMP, CSM and CSPO. Steve completed three certifications and 18 months education in project management and Agile management at UC Berkeley extension and has completed coursework in negotiation, leadership, leading teams, and intrapreneurship at Harvard Business School online and eCornell. Among other things, his recent focus has been studying SAFe, organizational change management, and digital transformations for Quality.
